Al Ahly win to book quarter final spot, Sundowns shocked as Setif cry foul

Matchday 5 of the 2018 CAF Champions League group stages got underway on Friday evening with some of the biggest teams on the African continent in action.

Horoya and AS Togo-Port got proceedings underway in the early kick-off in Conakry with the Guinea club claiming a 2-1 win Victory that  moved them above  Mamelodi Sundowns in Group C and into poll position of being the team to join Wydad Casablance in the knockout stages.

The Brazilians, who lost to Wydad the same evening  play host to Horoya in Pretoria later this month,Anas Al Asbahi’s goal the difference between the two sides as the defending champions beat the 2016 champions in Casablanca in a well attended clash

Eight-time champions Al Ahly silenced Group A rivals Espérance de Tunis 1-0 in Rades to book their place in the quarterfinals alongside the Tunisia club leaving the Rollers vs KCCA clash a dead rubber

Furthermore, TP Mazembe, who too have booked their place in the next round, came from a goal down to frustrate ES Sétif in Algeria. The 1-1 draw leaves the Black Eagles with it all to do in their final Group B encounter.
