Nigeria escapes FIFA ban after Federal government approves Amaju leadership

The Nigeria eFederal Government has announced its recognition of the Amaju Melvin Pinnick-led executive as the legitimate leadership of the Nigeria Football Federation (NFF).

In a tweet on Monday, just hours  before the 12pm deadline given by FIFA for the resolution of the leadership tussle in the Nigerian football governing body, Mr Laolu Akande, Senior Special Assistant to the President on Media, Office of the Vice President, said the government had already informed FIFA of the decision.

As a member nation of the global football governing body, the FG said Nigeria will abide by the laws and statue of FIFA.

The decision is a sigh of relieve for embattled Pinnick who is also the CAF Senior Vice President with his long battle with Giwa signalling an end


Nigeria  will now prepare to face Libya in the AFCON qualifiers knowing a ban is out of sight  while their representatives in the CAF Confederations Cup Enyimba not bothered at all after the news from FIFA
