Tanzania Premier league begins without title sponsors , 11 matches to go live

The Tanzania Premier league is set to begin today in what promises to be an entertaining season that will see an increased number of teams from the previous 16 to 20.

News that Vodacom may have pulled out of being the title sponsor has not distracted the league organizers who are set to name a new sponsor with Azam TV and KCB as possible names mentioned to take over .

Azam TV have the media rights and have lined up a shocking 11 live matches in four days starting today

The league will witness its first derby in round one where two Mwanza teams will take to each other at the CCM Kirumba

The first live match will be in Mwanza where rookies Alliance FC will take on Mbao FC in what is christened the Mwanza derby while at the Coastal Town of Tanga ,Coastal Union will welcome Iringa based side Lipuli at the Mkwakwani Stadium .This match is expected to attract a huge crowd that will see Tanzania Bongo musician Ali Kiba start for Coastal Union .

The last live match will be in Dar es salaam where defending champions Simba will take on Tanzania Prisons at the National stadium.

On Thursday JKT Tanzania will host Kinondoni Municipal Council at Mlandizi while Stand United will be at home in Shinyanga to take on African Lyon .Later on Tanga will host Mtibwa Sugar in a mouth watering clash in Dar before Azam FC and Mbeya City complete the live coverage at 8pm in Chamazi

The league will continue on Saturday and Sunday with more live coverage
