Derby win hands Gor Mahia 17th league title

Gor Mahia are the Kenya Premier league Champions

The Green army achieved the fete this evening in a mouth watering Nairobi Derby at the Moi International Sports Centre ,Kasarani

Parading a second team in a clash that a draw would earn them a second league title in a row and five in six years ,Gor scored first through speedy Bonface Omondi in 34th minute before Benard Ondiek added the second in the dying minutes of the first half .

The match was stopped for seven minutes after Leopards fans and players disputed the goal claiming it originated from two fouls that should have not been let go

Coach Dylan Kerr ,whose charges will face USM Algers in a do or die clash started the second half on a low with leopards introducing Vincent Oburu and Eugene Mukangula to add more power in the midfield .

Gor Mahia pressed on to win the match 2-0 and win the Kenya Premier league title for the 17th time and a morale boost heading into Wednesdays CAF Confederations decider clash with Algerian giants USM Alger .

The win means Gor Mahia will represent Kenya in the 2018/19 CAF Champions league
