Kisumu based side Western Stima Football Club have secured their promotion back to the top tire league after a one nil victory over fellow power men Coast Stima on Friday in a match played at the Moi Stadium Kisumu.
Stima who were last season relegated to the National Super League for the 2018 campaign got all their acts all together and in a precise way managing to amass vitial number of points to ensure their promotion just after eleven months in the second tire League.
Heading into the Friday fixture Stima had the sole target to pick full points to confirm their return back to the Kenyan Premier League and they did so though leavng it late with a comfortable slim win . Stima’s front line of Shimonyo and Frederick Nyarombo missed out on several chances in the opening stages of the match seeing the encounter heading into the breather all tied up .
On resumption Stima kept pressing from the onset creating numerous chances through Kevin Okoth and Kemboi but still none could count for it , but as they say patience pays Stima finally scored the elusive goal through Ugandan defender Mukisa Joseph who in a fashionable way struck in a beauty from a well executed free kick to hand Paul Ogai coached side promotion.
The win see’s Stima hit the 76-point mark with second placed KCB with a game in hand having 66 points. Nairobi Stima are placed third with 63 points whil Ushuru Football Club coming in fourth with 61 points after having drawn in earlier kick off.
