Gor Mahia coach Dylan Kerr is said to be on his way out after 16 months with the 17 times champions
Kerr guided Gor Mahia to a back to back KPL title , back to back Sportpesa Super cup and a group stage in the CAF Confederation Cup where they finished third .
Inside sources reveal to sokafrika.com that all is not well with the coach who may not return back to steer the side to the CAF champions league and a third straight league title
Kerr is said to have fallen out with his bench and executive over a number of reasons that according to him is untenable
It all started during the ultimate clash of the CAF Confederations cup against Rayon Sports when he used a makeshift defense in a match that a win would guarantee Gor Mahia passage to the quarter finals .Gor Mahia lost at home to Rayon Sports and failed to progress despite topping the group until the last clash against USM Alger’s
A fall out loomed after completion of the league as its believed Kerr wanted Allan Wanga to sign for Gor Mahia but the management had other plans .He also brought names of five foreigners ,three from west Africa and one from southern Africa insisting that either Tuyisenge or Karim to be axed to pave way for the five foreigners .He asked to have Mustapha ,Ivorian striker Guikan to be released too.
The signing of Pascal Ogweno ,Nicholas Kipkurui,Erisa Sekisambu,Kenneth Muguna and Castro Ogendo according to Kerr done without his blessings
The goose might have been cooked when he fielded all the 25 players that travelled with the team despite an agreement to use only Six substitutions. To Kerr ,he wanted all the players to get a feeling of Goodison park and top notch friendly while the rest wanted to have the best take to the pitch .They agreed to only make a maximum of six substitutions but this did not go well with the rest if the technical bench including the club officials .
Gor Mahia went on to concede two more goals following a substitution spree where six players were brought in with less than a quarter of an hour to end of the match
Gor Mahia lost 4-0, a scoreline that was not welcomed by the fans and the officials
In July this year Kerr turned down offers from Angola,S.Africa and Tanzania and pledged loyalty to Gor
If Kerr leaves he will have stayed for 15 months three shy of Frank Nuttal( 18months)
Others who have had a stint at the club since 2007 were Zedekiah Otieno (16 months ) Dravko Logarusic (16 months ) ,Jose Maria (16months ) the late James Sianga (12 months ) ,Sammy Omollo (10 months ) Gideon Ochieng (9 months ) Anaba Awono (5 months ) and Raphael Auka (20 days )
Kerr is currently in UK as sources inform Sokafrika that he is set for a medical check up for suspected lung cancer and was advised by his Doctors to remain back .
