A research done by a financial company called Finances of Football has come up with a list of 100 African football clubs and their rankings .
Finances of Football uses the clubs account and annual budget to rank clubs with the richest club being Al Ahly followed by South African giants Kaizer Chiefs ,Pyramids ,Club African ,Zamalek and Orlando Pirates complete the top six rich clubs .
Club Africain is high in the list due to the $35m CocaCola sponsorship translating to $11.66m per annum while Pyramids Latest figure is based on 400m EGP sponsor, with the politics at this club currently this may be invalid.
East African has three clubs in the top 100 with Tanzania giants Simba (60) with approximately USD 2,230,050 while St George of Ethiopia (67) at USD 2,154,042 and Gor Mahia of Kenya (78) at USD 1844585
The list is dominated by North African clubs but South Africa alone has 8 clubs in the top 100 ,Zambia and Zimbabwe have two each ,Nigeria four while Kenya ,Ethiopia and Tanzania have one each .
There is no chance for Rwanda ,Uganda ,Malawi clubs while Congolese giants TP Mazembe makes it to the top ten
