My Goal is Life Tournament: Bware Homeboyz crowned innaugural Champions
Bware Homeboyz are the champions of My Goal is Life tournament held at the Bware Primary Ground.
Barren half
In an explosive match at Bware Primary School grounds, reigning champions Bware Homeboyz went full blown with early intent to control proceedings. Bware’s real chance was barely ten minutes into the match ,Veteran Samson Odero linking up well with Saphan Dallas proved lethal and with keeper Musera in goal for Achuth to beat ,Odero blasted off his attempt much to Achuth’s players and supporters relief. Moments later with half hour mark of play,Achuth’s first sniff on goal came through when forward Brian Ngesa of Technical Universty Of Mombasa left Omondi Siguda for the dead but keeper Innocent Lihasi of Zetech University dived low and bravely to keep the scoreline at 0-0.
Breather
With much of a balance, the two teams would soak away for halftime breather with the capacity crowd ringed around the pitch braving the heavy downpour while cheering the boys on. The second half started just as the first with the home team making an early change.
Dallas winner
Striker Paul Kegode who was largely ineffective for most parts of the first half was withdrawn for Ken Gor,the change was to enhance Bware’s attack from the right flank with more pace and precision. The change proved effective with immense pressure paying off later on when Musera who otherwise had a brilliant game let Dallas score an easy goal that would prove to be the winner.
Eight teams took part in the six day tournament that saw the residents of South Kanyamkago Ward, Uriri Constituency in Migori County come together for the extravaganza.
Drug Awarness
The tournament was initiated to help fight drug abuse within the area, educate the youth on investments and tapping talent from the area. During the tournament two talented boys (Innocent Lihasi and Jasper Change) were recruited by Sports Manager Ronald Okoth who previously turned out for Gor Mahia,Western Stima,KCB and Mathare United and will be absorbed in his stable.
