Oliech strikes Gor Mahia back to winning ways

Dennis Oliech propelled defending champions Gor Mahia to 2:1 win over Posta Rangers in a rescheduled Kenyan Premier League match on 9th Wednesday, January 2019.

In a match played Wednesday evening at Kasarani Stadium, Oliech made his first start for the club in a leadership capacity, captaining Hassan Oktal men  back to winning ways to a two one scoreline victory. Gor got off to a bright start with an urge for an early goal. With much of their pressure, Gor broke the deadlock through defender Charles Momanyi who rose well heading in a Francis kahata’s corner cross with three minutes to half hour mark of play.

Nambuye’s equalizer

With five minutes to half time breather,Posta drew back level after forward Francis Nambuye flicked in Brian Osumba’s low cross.

Oliech’s moment

Captain of the day Dennis Oliech made a mark for his name on his return to local football with calmly and confidently taken strike to take Gor back in the lead much to the joy of a handful K’Ogalo faithfuls.

Fair half

The final  half of the match witnessed lots of missed chances with Oliech at the core. The former International suffering from lack of play having been out for a while was not able convert the numerous chances that came his way while Rangers boldly  defended out well to a 2:1 final  scoreline.

The win leaps Gor to seventh on the log on 10 points.
