The Sudanese champions earned an important away point as they held the Zambians to a 1-all draw.
ZESCO United were left disappointed as they were held to 1-all draw by Al Hilal of Sudan on Sunday evening at the Levy Mwanawasa Stadium in the CAF Confederation Cup.
The scores at half-time were nil-all but the visitors were however reduced to ten men as Congolese striker Idris Mbombo, who came up against his former side was sent shockingly sent off with seconds remaining to half time for what looked like dissent.
Hilal opened the scores in the 66th minute through Abdalla Nasrelddine before star forward Lazarus Kambole turned in Jesse Jackson Were’s cross from close range.
ZESCO are now second in Group C with 4 points after three matches played while Al Hilal are third with 4 points as well but have a lesser goal difference.
Meanwhile, earlier in the day Nkana were 3-1 victors over Asante Kotoko in Kitwe to top the group with six points while Kotoko are rooted to the bottom with 3 points.
