The Belgian will no longer be at the helm of the Southern African nation after the expiry of his contract next month.
The Football Association Of Zambia (FAZ) have announced their decision to opt against renewing the contract for their Belgian coach Sven Vandenbroeck after failing to guide the 2012 African champions to the 2019 AFCON that will be held in Egypt.
Vandenbroeck who was part of Hugo Broos’ technical staff that won the 2017 AFCON in Gabon with Cameroon took charge of the Chipolopolo from Wedson Nyirenda in July,2018 on a short-term deal with an option of an extension if he qualified the team to the biggest showpiece on the continent.
The 39-year old will take charge of his last game as Chipolopolo coach next month in the dead-rubber AFCON qualifier at home to Namibia.
The association have also announced the appointments of Aggrey Chiyangi and Numba Mumamba as first and second assistant coaches respectively while Chintu Kampamba who served in the same capacity has relieved of his duties.
