Kipkirui steers ten man Gor Mahia past Tusker

Kenya Premier League defending champions Gor mahia emerged 1:0 winners past Tusker Wednesday 27 February.

In a rescheduled league fixture Gor got off brightly with a twin miss from former Ulinzi Stars and Sony Sugar forward Samuel Onyango who missed out on  open scoring chances.

With the game seemingly settling ,Tusker would then find their touch breaking through on a quick counter attack which saw Boniface Olouch in goal for K’Ogalo dashing out of his area to clear out an inbound attack from Tuskers  David Juma,a move that resulted to the keeper being sent off on a straight red card booking.

Oporia goal cancelled

On return for the final half of the duel,Tusker adavatanged with an extra player on the pitch pushed upfront for an equalizer but none was forthcoming,a move that saw coach Matano introducing youngster Oporia, a move that worked albiet imminently rising high firing in powerfully for an equalizer but hardly into celebration, the goal would not stand  being ruled for offside. A decision that led to a bitter confrontation from Tusker players and the centre refree.

The win leapfrogs Gor Mahia to second spot while Tusker cements fifth on 23 points.
