Acting chairman of the Referee Committee of Ghana Mr.Cudjoe Fianoo hints on proposal of Video Assistance Referee and Goal Line Technology to the Ghana premier League as a token to steps in normalizing the domestic game.
It is believed that, Ghana referees have lost credibility due to the popular revelation of Anas Expose centered on how the local footy have been duped with bribery and corruption.
Content of the gimmick revealed most officials receiving bribes to manipulate games.
Speaking to local radio station Atinka FM-Accra, the head of the Ghana premier League clubs Association(GHALCA) Mr.Cudjoe Fianoo articulated that;
“The Referees Committee of the GFA Normalization Committee have proposed the introduction of Video Assistant Referee (VAR) and Goal Line Technology at “key” Ghana Premier League centres.”
Close to 30 Ghanaian referees were perished from football by CAF due to the scandalous bribery accusations in the footage.
Reining as head of referees in Ghana Mr.Fianoo is adamant to expel bribery and corruption in Ghana football hence that triggered the idea to approve VAR and Goal Line Technology to enhance the work of the officials.
