The 2016 Champions League semi-finalists have now been eliminated from the competition after their 3-0 thumping at the hands of their local rivals.
ZESCO United have been eliminated from the 2018-19 CAF Confederation Cup after a 3-0 drubbing at the hands of Nkana in Kitwe on Sunday.
Kalampa scored three times in 30 minutes through Kelvin Kampamba,Ronald Kampamba and Shadreck Musonda to defend their 43-year old unbeaten home record in CAF competition.
After a first dominated by the visitors ended nil-all,B Beston Chambeshi’s charges returned for the second-half with more impetus and hunger for glory as Kampamba opened the scores in the 70th minute off an Harrison Chisala assist.
Legendary striker Kampamba nicknamed “Sate Sate” scored his fourth goal in the competition this season when he turned in captain Walter Bwalya’s ball before Shadreck Musonda completed Kalampa’s 3-0 rout with a minute to full-time.
Nkana are now top of Group C with 9 points and only need to avoid defeat in their last group fixture away at Sudanese side Al Hilal to confirm their participation in the quarter-finals draw on March 20th while ZESCO are rooted to the bottom with 4 points and can not progress to the next round.
