Walk over ! Troubled Vihiga could hand title to Gor before kick off
Troubled KPL side Vihiga united chances of honoring their fixture against Champions Gor Mahia tomorrow are slim as things stand.
The team has not had a routine residential camp for a while now leave alone salaries and allowances that have accumulated to thousands. By the time of going to press this morning players and technical bench were still stranded in Majengo town in Vihiga county waiting for the final word on the trip to Machakos from their employer the county Government of Vihiga which has shown little or no commitment to the struggling team since the change of guard from the former Governor Akaranga.
WORST TIMES EVER
The team is at its lowest moments as it struggles to survive relegation with three matches remaining, they need at least two wins and a draw hoping that Zoo Kericho drop points to keep their hopes alive.
“We are at our worst moments ever and if a miracle don’t happen today we might not travel to Nairobi, the county have been giving false hopes and no one is responding to our concerns’ one official said.
On its part the county has maintained that it doesn’t have money raising questions as to what the sports ministry is doing on the matter, the irony being Vihiga United carries the county name on its shirt as the main sponsor.
WELL WISHERS
The last match on Sunday against Tusker fc the team risked not honoring the match but thanks to the quick response from friends and well wishers who raised 96,000/-[ninety six thousands] the same day that facilitated the team.”
things should not be happening like this when we have an able county Government as a sponsor,we appeal to all good friends of the team to rise to the occasions
