Belgium giants Anderlecht express interest in Abdul Fatawu

Belgium top flight side RSC Anderlecht are considering a stunning move for Asante Kotoko midfielder Abdul Fatawu Safiu, close checks revealed.

Fatawu joined Kotoko barely a year ago on free transfer and went on to contribute massively in Kotoko’s 2019 Caf Confederations Cup qualification to the group stages round.

Since signing for the Porcupine Warriors, Abdul Fatawu has been very consistent and the backbone behind Kotoko’s road to the semi finals of the ongoing NC Special tournament.

Currently lying second on the goal king chart with 8 goals adrift leading top scorer and Karela Utd wonderkid Diawisie Taylor who has also notched 9 goals so far in the tournament.

The versatile forward was named in Black Stars 29 man provisional list ahead of the AFCON 2019.

The Ghana national team will camp in Dubai as part of preparation towards the AFCON.

It is believed that Abdul Fatawu Safiu will en route to Belgium from Dubai to hold talks with Anderlecht over his possible move, if only he fails to make it in the mandatory final 23 man squad list.

However discussions will be on hold if the player is included in the final list of the 23 players who would be selected by head coach James Kwesi Appiah until the end of journey for Ghana Black Stars in Egypt.
