Dominant Cranes stun Leopards in Cairo
East African side Uganda Cranes opened their African Cup Of Nations 2019 campaign with a comfortable 2:0 over DRC Congo at the Cairo Stadium Saturday evening.
A twin header strike from Patrick Kaduu and Emmanuel Okwi each half saw Uganda to huge start getting the better of thier opponents in a clash cranes largely dominant of the sides. More quick and attacking,cranes search didn’t take long with just 14 minutes of the ecounter a good delivery in found unmarked Kaduu Patrick who rose high to head in Uganda’s operner. Khalid Aucho would then have his long range effort saved before moments later Azira’s left foot inswinger strike just missing out with keeper all to well beaten.
Okwi’s goal
On resumption, cranes attacking spree continued and with three minutes into play, Uganda would be awarded a foul just 30 yards off the Congo’s goal area. Michael Azuri stepped up with a samptous delivery finding Simba Sc’s danger man Emmanuel Okwi who made no mistakes heading in doubling Uganda’s lead.
Fruitfless attempts by Leopards Yannick Bloaise and Cedric Bokambu proved not enough to break cranes defence. The win now sees Uganda topping Group A while DRC Congo rooted at the bottom.
