Liberian teenager Allen Njie marked his first start for Grasshopper Zurich in a 1-0 preseason lost to Servette in an international Club friendly .
Allen Njie continued his whirlwind stint with Grasshopper’s first team on Saturday, starting his first match in the club’s 1-0 loss to Servette in an International Club friendly match.
The former Liscr’s FC midfielder is hoping to gain his place in the Club first book for the coming season ,and is taking and delivering every chances that come on the table in warm-up matches to count himself ready for top European football next season.
The 19-year-old Liberia International ,played in his second straight preseason match with the Switzerland giant’s first team, following up his cameo against Rapperswil Jona last week with a steady second-half shift in the Grasshopper center circle.
The teenager was excellent again in the clash with Servette on Saturday and would feature in the match with Schaffhausen at the weekend.
“He’s a very talented player,” Grasshopper manager Ulich Forte said of Allen on Saturday after his team narrow lost to Servette.
“He’s great in training and he also played a great two games. He has to work a lot, I said that in his first match with as well, however he will get the time (to develop) and I do know that if we need him he’ll be ready to go.” forte said in a whatsapp chat to LSI sports.
“Allen showed his passing touch and athleticism, looking very confident as he helped kept the ball to his feet every time defending and creating chances for grasshopper, but unfortunately he fell on the losing side , courtesy of an 85th minute goal scored by Servette Brazilian forward Chagas Mychell da silva.
Njie , who joined the Switz Club mid- transfer from Liscr FC , is already impressing the coaching board of the club , his two preseason matches performance could , certainly merit him a place for the coming season.
“I felt good, and more comfortable with the guys,” Njie told Liberian Sports international. “I got some minutes under my belt against Rapperswil , so I had a better feel for how the guys play.
I’m excited by the chances given me , it good to be here”, developing and getting more first opportunity to the Senior players here , honestly i’m superior and is taken every minutes the coach gives me with my heart and focus on making progress.
The most important thing is the coach love my game , and i am already in the first team and nothing can remove me he told Liberian Sports international.
Allen Njie has started well in his recent warm -up matches with the Club first team and is looking forward to more game time to add to his already booster credits.
He , came to grasshopper in february from Liberia domestic Club Liscr FC , but was injected into the hoppers Under -21 side , where the 19-year-old had an incredible run of half season , appearing in Seven matches.
Allen Njie is Liberia International with Gambia root, he started playing proffessional football with Gardnersville FC, before moving to the Liscr first team , the sensational lad had however went on to nil down five international caps with the Liberia National team.
