Minnows Madagascar thrash Nigeria to qualify for knockout stage.

Minnows Madagascar stunned Nigeria 2:0 Sunday evening in the final group B match in Alexandria Egypt.

Termed underdogs, Madagascar proved no pushovers producing a covincing win over favourites Nigeria. A Lalaina Nomenjanahary and Carolus Andriamahitsinoro goals each half proved vital as they went on to produce a massive win.

A costly blunder  by Ogenekhero Etebo would see Lailana sneek in rounding up keeper Ekechukwu Ezenwa to slot in Madagascars first of the day. Super eagles several attempts to level scores thruogh Ahmed Musa and Ighalo  proved unfruitful as the Barea’s turned a  hard nut to crack.

Immediately in the second dominant Madagascar doubled their lead just 11 minutes into the second half, Wilfred Ndindi caused a foul play just 25 yards on goal resultanting to a free kick being awarded.  Carolus Andriamahitsinoro stepped in with a beauty deflecting off Ndindi for Barea’s second goal of the match and emphatic win  to suprise of many.

In another same pool match , Mohamed Yattara’s double was all important for Guniea as the Syli nationale beat  Burundi 2:0 standing a chance to a slot in the knockout stage . With the final pool B  matches  Madagascar tops on 7points, Nigeria comes second on 6 points while Guniea comes third on 4 points.
