KPL side Nzoia ends trials today.

KPL side Nzoia Sugar FC will conclude their week long trials today at Sudi Stadium. The exercise started on 1st of July 2019.
According to the Head coach Peter Mwaura, their interest is to strengthen the team ahead of 2019/2020 season.
The Bungoma based side is known for recruiting young and raw talents direct from schools and lower divisions is likely to have benefited from the just concluded Kenya Secondary Schools Regional ball games that was staged in the county with the finals played at their home ground Sudi Stadium.

Amazing turnout

From the start the team received a good number of trialists who turned up to try their luck something that is encouraging. “i am amazed by the number of young talents that have turned up,its so motivating we have been having a number of up to 100 participants of which we will only require 6-7 to beef up the squad, all the boys are proving they need to be part of the team next season posing a big challenge to us, but again Nzoia fc management believes in young, fresh talents that is why we focus on the grass root selection, so a number of them will be brought on board” said Mwaura in an interview with sokafrika.

The beginning of last season Nzoia lost a number of their key players to other K pl teams something that affected their 2018/2019 campaign funding being another challenge as Nzoia sugar company their main sponsor has not been doing so well in the recent times.

Former Makhakama fc man Mwaura, assures fans of vibrant Nzoia fc in the coming season.
