Liberia to play Equatorial Guinea in international friendly

Liberia will take on Equatorial Guinea in an international friendly on 21 July in Malabo.

Head coach Thomas Kojo will use the match to prepare for the 2020 African Nations Championship (CHAN) qualifier with Senegal on 28 July in Monrovia.

Unlike the friendly in Gaborone on 30 September that will be fully-funded by Botswana except for perdiems, Liberia will be responsible for round-trip tickets and perdiems for the traveling delegation while the hosts will take care of accommodation, feeding, ground transportation and training facilities.

The friendly is an effort of Liberia Football Association President Mustapha Raji as part of technical cooperation agreements he arranged on the sidelines of the 69th Fifa congress held in Paris expo Porte de Versailles in Paris, France on 5 June.

Liberia lost 2-1 to Equatorial Guinea on 3 September 2006 in Malabo and drew 0-0 in Monrovia on 16 June 2007 during the 2006 Africa Cup of Nations qualifiers.
