Algeria are the 2019 Total African Cup of Nations champions after beating Senegal 1:0 Friday night .
A 3rd minute goal by Baghdad Bounedjah barely settling in the match gave the Desert Foxes the early lead,a lead that would later turn out as the winning goal.
Tipped favourites the desert foxes ,took the early lead coming off a deflection from Sane that went past Gomes in goal who totally misjudged it to go out. The surprise early set back would see Senegal up their momentum in persuit for an equalizer a push that really didn’t materialize with Niang missing from a close range effort .
In the second half Senegal proved more lethal forward ,Niang being feed through by Sarr, went past keeper Raised M’bohli but his final touch went wide off target.
With almost 30 minutes to go Senegal seemed to have got a perfect chance to restore parity from the spot after Sarr’s cross came off Guedioura’s hand but upon a review from VAR the decision was revoked.
Despite constant pressure for an equalizer,Sabalay powerful goal bound shoot would be tipped away by Rais with Algeria heading on to hold firmly to win the 2019 edition .
