The giants Al Ahly have defeated South Sudanese side Atlabara FC 4-0 in the first-leg of the preliminary round of the CAF Champions League.
Al-Ahly were drawn against South Sudanese league champions Atlabara FC, with the first and second legs played at Borg El-Arab, Alexandria according to the desire of Alabara.
Atlabara FC is considered as the home team in the first leg. Both sides face each other again in Alexandria on August 23.
AS expected, Al Ahly dominated the game completely and took them 17 minutes only to score their first after Ali Maaloul succeeded in scoring from a penalty kick.
Nine minutes later, Walid Azaro came close to scoring a wonder goal after meeting El-Shahat’s cross with an backward kick, but the amzing shot hit the post.
However, Azaro managed to double his side’s lead in the 32nd minute.
In the early minutes of the second-half, Azaro completed his brace with a header after a perfect cross from Amr El-Sulya.
Al-Ahly continued to miss a handful of opportunities and waste numerous chances, with Junior Ajayi ‘s shots missing the net and hitting the post and the crossbar.
This continued until the 93rd minute, when Ahmed El-Sheikh scored the fourth goal.
However, Al Ahly will first face Pyramids FC in the round of 16 of the Egypt Cup on Saturday, August 17.
