Al Ahly knocked out from Egypt Cup after their 1-0 loss against Pyramids in the round of 16.
The first real threat came in the seventh minute through Abdallah El-Said, whose long range freekick shot went just wide off the target.
In the 25th minute, Al Ahly responded through Ramadan Sobhi who advanced towards the box, but his strike was blocked by Ahmed El-Shennawy.
Around 10 minutes later, Walid Azarou wasted a glorious chance to snatch the lead for the Al Ahly, as he failed to convert Saleh Gomaa’s perfectly-weighted pass into the empty net.
At the 48th minute the referee refused to give a clear penalty for Al-Ahly
Pyramids broke the knot in the 55th minute, when cranes star Abdu Lumala went up the left flank and sent the ball towards Traory, who finished Calmly past Mohamed El-Shennawy.
At the 70-minute mark, Ayman Ashraf was shown a red card after his challenge on Traory forcing Al Ahly to continue with 10 men.
This is Al Ahly’s third loss against Pyramids this season, after suffering two defeats in the Egyptian League.
