Nea Salamin Winger Tonia Tisdell is in the news again for the wrong reasons after he was sent home from the Liberia national team camp, for disorderly Conduct.
He will miss the Lone Star return leg World Cup qualifier with Sierra Leone in Freetown this Sunday , September 8, at the Siaka Steven Stadium and probably rule out for the rest of the country 2021 Africa Cup of Nations and 2022 World Cup qualifier.
The Liberia Football Association said in a released that they have informed Cypriot Club ,Nea Salamis Famagusta about the player expulsion on national duty and has been sent home from the team Camped.
Tonia Tidell’s hopes of resurrecting his Liberia’s career seem to be over after the former Osmanlispor and Denizlispor forward was sent home from the Lone Star Camped through the recommendation and warning from Coach Peter Butler,who is said to be furious with the player indiscipline attitude on the team Camped.
Tisdell risk complete explusion from the Liberia National ,his International Career with Liberia seem to be certainly under Coach Peter Butler.
The LFA’s the decision to sent NEA Salamis Forward Tonia Tisdell home was base upon Liberia coach Peter Butler,complained of Tonia’s “indiscipline behavior and general disrespect to teammates and technical staff as well as the public” and to LFA President Mustapha Raji on Thursday.
“We believe that it is with pride that all professional Liberians would love to showcase his/her talent, skill and or knowledge for the betterment of Liberia.
“With this in mind, we must be cognizant of our duty as role models for the youngsters to emulate.
“As a consequence of your insolent acts as stated above and reported by the head coach, we have no other alternative but to release you from the camp henceforth,” said LFA secretary-general Isaac Montgomery in a letter to Tonia on Thursday.
Capped 13 times by the Liberia National team forward Tonia Tisdell made his debut in a goalless draw against Algeria on October 11, 2008, in a 2010 World Cup qualifier, since than the player has established himself as key figure in the Lone Star attack.
In respond to his dismissal the Liberian Winger seem to pity the LFA’s decision terming it as to hash toward a player who have sacrifice a lot for his country.
Of course I am upset because you are dirtying my image and I think that I am playing the best kind of football and Sacrifice our strength and life for Liberia, this affects me a lot,” when I heard about my explosion from the team he told Sokafrika reporter on Mobile phone.
The winger also dismissed reports claiming that some people are trying to dent his image and witchhunt him out of the National team.
“I would prefer it if they would be more kind to me in Liberia, but some people just want to drag me through the mud.” he said .
