Majeed Aahimeru was unused sub in Salzburg heavy win in the Champions League

Ghanaian international Majeed Ashemeeru was not in action as Red Bull Salzburg thrilled Belgium side Genk by 6-2 at home.

It was the season opener in the Uefa Champions League for the Austria giants starting on a high note.

19year old Erling Haalan bagged hatrick with Hwang Hee-Chan, Szoboszlai and Ulmer all finding the score sheet to propelled Salzburg cruise to an emphatic victory in the eight goal thriller at the Red Bull Arena.

The former WAFA midfielder dream to make his Champions League debut has been prolonged after failing to make an appearance in the game last night.

However two other Africans enjoyed their part.

Zambian national Patson Daka made a cameo appearance to help his side Salzburg survive the day convincingly.

On the other hand red hot Mbwana Samatta of Tanzania decent got a consolation for Genk to mark off his maiden goal in the Uefa Champions League competition but saw yellow in the 83rd minute.
