BUL FC 3-0 MBARARA CITY
First half hatrick from Musa Esenu did the damage for Paul Nkata’s charges whose ship continued to sink.
Both teams needed to win this encounter ,for the home team they needed to win and keep the sight of table leaders Vipers who were in front of them by 6 points. Despite that ,for Mbarara city it was a case of a do or die as they needed a win to save their ship and its captain Paul Nkata whose charges have seen Mbarara city shackled in a worst run of form ever since he arrived.
Mbarara city bossed the first 20 minutes of the game but were unlucky to find the back of the net as their chances were kept out by young BUL shot stopper Sanon Mulabi.
It was not until the 27th minute when Robert Mukongotya delivery was pinpointed to the on rushing Musa Esenu who powerfully bullet headed the ball into the net for BUL fc’s opener.
The second goal came as surprise minutes later when Robert Mukongotya well exchanged passes in front the goal with Musa Esenu who caught the defence off guard slotting the ball into the back of the net.
Sadly for Ankole lions defender Hilary Mukundane , he would play part in helping Musa Esenu score a hatrick as he failed to clear the ball that found unmarked Esenu who latched on it steering it past advancing goalkeeper Tomas Ikara in the last minute of first half.
In the second half Mbarara city tried to create more chances but they all yielded nothing as BUL fc had resorted to defending its first half goals and indeed BUL Coach peter Onen trick paid off as the maintained their lead to see off the game
Peter Onen’s boys still occupy second position on the ladder and they sit just 3 points behind leaders Sports Club Vipers who have collected 30 points.
On the the hand, Mbarara city remains 13th on the table with 10 points and it leaves them with 2 points gleaned from possible 18 .They currently sit one position above the relagation zone.
