Sc Villa 1-0 Express FC

Emmanuel Waswa scored  a powerful header at Bombo Barracks grounds  yesterday to help record  league champions Sports Club Villa towards a hard earned slim victory over fierce rivals Express FC  as they completed a double win in Uganda Premier League this season.

The hosts  had a bright start in the first 20 minutes but the credit goes to Express Fc Shot stopper  Mathias Muwanga who managed to keep out David Owor and Bashir Mutanda chances thus keeping Express FC hopes alive.

Though Express FC slowly regained dominance in possession in the middle of the first half they failed to utilize the little chances they had seeing out  the first stanza end goalless.

In the 68th minute,David Owor perfect delivery found Emmanuel Waswa who powerfully bullet headed the ball near the goal post beating Muwanga  on the line.

Express FC Chances of sharing spoils didn’t end until referee of the day Ali Sabila waved away when Sc Villa’s left back Ndahiro clipped Doka Isaac inside the 18 yard box.

The last and the best chance for Express FC  to  equalize came in the closing minutes of the game but advancing Frank Senyondo headed away a pinpoint delivery from Dissan Galiwango.

A win helped Villa reclaim third position  on 33 points from 19 games while Express remains with 21 points and this was a 10th defeat for George Ssemwogerere’s boys.
