Busia County League teams get Odi Bets Sponsorship
Eight teams from Busia County League, have on Tuesday 4th February received sponsorship from betting firm Odi Bets.
The betting firm signed a sponsorship deal with Football Kenya Federation(FKF) on 7th December 2019 where over 3000 county league teams are to benefit from the sponsorship.
Odi Bets launched the first phase of the sponsorship with Busia chapter dabbed “Odi Mtaani” on Tuesday 4th February 2020 in which a special friendly match was staged between Mayenje Santos and Busia Sugar FC. Yasin Sije’s brace and Geoffrey Wandera third ensured Mayenje Santos 3:2 victory over Busia Sugar Fc.
It was a surprise defeat for Busia Sugar who are placed second on the log while Santos sits fifhteenth.
The two teams played in their newly Odibets branded kits. The two sides thanked FKF President Nick Mwenda for the kind gesture fo remembering county clubs by getting OdiBets sponsorship which they termed has largely been lacking.
Busia Sugar Coach Vincent Barasa and his counterpart Alex Onyango of Santos said the Odi Mtaani sponsorship has come in handy, adding that it will go a long way in nurturing talents.
Sports journalists Fred Arocho of Radio Jambo said,he was impressed with the talents in Busia County praising Busia Sugar FC towering midfielder Leon Ondego for his confidence and good ball display, noting that he will arrange for the player to play top flight football.
Odi Bets marketing manager, Aggrey Sai said,”We as OdiBets are committed to sponsoring football at grassroots level, we shall ensure that each team participating in the County League will get two sets of uniforms, six balls and training materials.”
Among those who watched the match included Busia County Director of Culture Stephen Makhanu, FKF Development Officer Stephen Otieno, and FKF Busia Sub Branch Secretary Hillary Musundi.
