Uganda international striker, Juma Balinya is set to ditch Kenyan defending champions Gor Mahia over unpaid wages.
Juma joined the Kenyan league defending champions in January after terminating a 2 year running contract with Young Africans Football club from Tanzania over unpaid salary. After only four months at Gor Mahia where he thought he would settle his head down, the same situation he faced in Tanzania seems to force him to end his marriage with K’Ogalo prematurely as the club is also having financial constraints.
Reliable sources have confirmed to Sokafrika.com that though Gor Mahia is having financial problems after the termination of their sponsorship deal with SportsPesa they are willing to let him go for free.
This could turn out to be Juma’s blessing in disguise as reports in South Africa have confirmed that the 28 year old is in advanced negotiations with Clinton Larsen coached side Polokwane City fc. However, the Ugandan striker will have to wait for next season to join Polokwane side.If the deal materialises Balinya will become the second Ugandan to don Polokwane Jersey after Boban Zirintusa did so in 2016.
In Uganda, he previously featured for Vipers SC and Police Fc excelling at the latter club in 2018-2019 Uganda premier league season where he scored 19 goals to take the top scorers accolade.
