Timothy Musinguzi is the  only player to  have featured in every  season Tooro United has played in Uganda premier league.

Tooro United have been  dealt  a blow even  before they start their quest to  return to  Uganda premier league with their longest serving player  and captain  Timothy Musinguzi  confirming that he will not  renew his  contract with  Soccer Jaguars next season.

While talking to  staff  writer, Timothy  said

Its been  a pleasure to pull on the Soana /Tooro  United  jersey and Captain them for many years ,Big thanks go to Mr Smart  Obed and to Tooro United’s  incredible fans that have been  with us throughout our  journey from when  were promoted  up to now “

Timothy also  appreciated the  role played by players and all the coaches that have been  with him at Tooro .

“I wish to thank  all the players that  have played  with me and all the coaches  and staff that I have  worked with. Thank you for  memories  that will stay with me   forever ”

He added on

“As for now I can  painfully  confirm  that I will  not re-sign   for Soccer Jaguars as you all know  my contract is  expiring  at the end this month “

The 34 year old was  signed in  2012  by Soana Fc from Mbarara  United  and he was part of Coach  Richard  Makumbi’s team that beat Koboko fc 3-0  at Mehta Stadium in 2013  to seal the last birth  of Uganda’s top flight league .

As a  hard working  and committed Captain , Timothy  has  seen Tooro  United finish  4th  in 2018-2019  season  and  he remains the only player to  feature for club in all seasons  that Tooro  United  has played  in Uganda Premier league.

The club had  turbulent  times  last season  after rebranding  the team from Soana to Tooro United ,they lost their  head coach Waswa Bbosa  who  resigned in  October  citing   unsupportive  working  conditions  and he was replaced by   his assistant Eric  Ndifuna who  also  got fired after few weeks  .

In January  they hired Muhammad  Kisseka  to help them  avoid  a slip down  into Big league but the  league  was suspended  and eventually cancelled   due to pandemic  Covid19  and   Tooro United    ended up being  named among the  clubs that were relegated  .

Last season  Timothy  featured  in the first  round  of the season  but unfortunately  injuries hampered his chances of  playing in the  second round .

A clutch of  top flight  and Big league clubs have  already shown  interest  in signing the  hard working experienced  defender.
