The football governing body and it’s delegates will officially meet on Friday at the 24th ordinary congress to discuss the way forward of football in the amist of the global Coronavirus health crisis, that have put hut to Soccer across the World.
The Liberia Football Association (LFA) leadership is set to convene for an Ordinary Session of Congress on Friday June 12, 2020 at Samuel Kanyon Doe Sports Complex.
High on the agenda is the improvement of football in the Country, another talking point could be the resumption of the LFA National Leagues that was nullified because of the Covid-19 Pandemic.
The Ordinary Congress will also highlights the local football House annual activity reports, between 2018 & 2019 and 2020 income per share analyses; 2019 budget versus actual & 2020 budget analysis and 2019 year to date audit report will be some major talking points as football stallholders in Liberia brainstorm.
“Delegates will deliberate on the agenda as and to discuss and usher in the upcoming football season.”and new members Clubs includes Almighty FC, Ambassador FC, Heaven Eleven, Hippo FC, Muscat FC, Sandi FC and Stages FC, will be formally admitted and inducted at congress.
Perhaps event will also include minutes of the 2018 extraordinary elective congress, 23rd ordinary congress and July 6, 2019 extraordinary congress.
The LFA congress should have taken place at the SKD on 23 May at 9:00AM in keeping with article 34 of the July 23, 2018 LFA revised statutes.
Article 34.1 says “an ordinary congress shall be held once every year” while article 34.3 says “the executive committee shall fix the place and date and the members shall be notified in writing at least 60 days in advance”.
In an email on 21 March, Montgomery said the holding of the congress centered on an improved situation in the fight against the global coronavirus disease (Covid-19) in keeping with a declaration from the government.
As was approved by CAF, FIFA and government, the congress will be held under strict guidelines, which adhere to the protocols to curb the spread of Covid-19.
CAF President Ahmad Ahmad will be represented by Deputy Youth & Sports Minister Andy Quamie, who is also a CAF/FIFA commissioner.
Quamie is also a member of CAF appeal board.
