The Moroccan giant will go to the hearing in January 2021 to appeal with the Court of Arbitration for Sport (CAS) to reduced sum charged by Football Government body FIFA disputes committee for illegally terminating the Contract of unattached Liberian Striker William Jebor.
The Arches are pushing for reduction in the payment of the sum of 8.3 million dirhams,owed former forward William Jebor for unilateral breach of the contract, the Compensation will stand as profit for the unattached attacker.
Court of Arbitration for Sport (CAS) have confirmed that Wydad Casablanca will have a hearing on 12 January 2021 to appeal their fined by FIFA dispute Committee for illegally terminating the Contract of its ex-striker William Jebor.
Football Governance body FIFA hit the Moroccan Club with a Fine of 8.3 million decided by its disputes committee after WAC were found to have breached FIFA rules concerning termination of footballer Contract in the case of Liberia International William Jebor.
FIFA disputes committee had demanded from Wydad the payment of the sum of 8.3 million dirhams to William Jebor,as profit for the player for unilateral breach of the contract,but Liberian Sports International has understand that Wydad opposed the move arguing that the Liberian international had unilaterally broken his contract by signing for Emirati club Al Fujairah SC, while his release with the Reds was pending.
According to Football Source in Morocco, the Player lawyer had asked for compensation of 11 million dirhams for the benefit of his client,but the FIFA disputes committee was content to set the compensation at 8.3 million dirhams, since the player cannot claim two indemnities from two clubs during the same season. Indeed, the player terminated his contract with the Emirate club after only six months and zero goals on the clock.
At the same time the Court of Arbitration for Sport (CAS), have set December 9, 2020 the appeal Date of the Reds against the decision of the litigation committee which had fixed compensation of 2 Million entitlement benefit for Tunisian coach Faouzi Benzarti for the qualification for the final of the African Champions League against Esperance de Tunis and the title of Botola.
Meanwhile CAS had delayed announcing when Wydad Athletic Casablanca (WAC) would be granted a hearing, but they have now confirmed that the Reds will get the chance to plead their case on12 January 2021.
As noted by the daily Al Ahdath, WAC hope to convince CAS that they deserve the chance in reduction of the fine, because the Club board had some difficult times with player, which led to the termination of the Contract.
Wydad Athletic Casablanca wrongly terminated forward William Jebor Contract back in 2018 after the former Ponferradina and Rio Ave attacker was classified as deem surplus to requirement at Stade de Mohammed V.
