Al Ahly beat Al Merreikh

Al Ahly, have beaten Sudan’s Al-Merrikh in their first game in the CL group stages.

Al Ahly nearly opened the scoring just six minutes in with Mohamed Magdy Afsha’s, whose close-range header grazed the right post.
In the 49th minute, Mahmoud Wahid took a powerful shot from inside the penalty area but it hit the side netting.
ten minutes later, Afsha scored the first after receiving Mohamed Hany’s cross with a precise header in the far post.
In the 63rd minute, Kahraba found himself in a one-on-one situation with the goalkeeper and doubled the Reds’ lead.
The Congolese Bwalya finally opened his goalscoring for Al Ahly, after receiving El-Sulya’s through pass and smashing it into the back of the net.

Al Ahly now top Group A of the CAF Champions League, with three points, ahead of Simba SC on goal difference, whom they’ll face in their next encounter on 23rd Feb.
